GMB: We welcome Kim Mutch Emerson here today. Here in the 'Anything But a Tired Barn' we got together and did something a little different ... We all here in the Barn changed things around a little. We're looking more like a Wolves' Den than a barn and I must say ... Kim we have some nervous chickens around here today... KME: Well Mitch its good to be here to enjoy the effort to make your Barn into a Den... But you know how I am with the chickens ... They make me a little nervous too. GMB: Okay forget the chickens for now ... What's with your passion for wolves anyway? KME: I lived at the top of a mountain with a pack of wolves ... But should we be doing this to the chickens Mitch ... I mean really? Oh, and how about the cow hiding in the corner there ... I'm thinking that is a real look of cowcern... GMB: Ha ha ha ... Well maybe we ought to change the subject ... perhaps they will all ease up a little if we share a little about your book latest novel Digitus 233. KME: Good idea Mitch, the less feathers stirred up the better... GMB: I read you latest novel, Digitus 233 and provided it the following review, "Digitus 233 drops the reader into a remote, hostile environment and to experience the de facto leader on mission ... Then there is the stowaway otherwise smuggling himself into harm's way ... perhaps. Then there is a `room that wasn't a room'. I love the contrast, juxtaposition, the paradox of expansive free form themes and confined spaces ... the notion of intense indoctrination facing off with the notion of identifying and securing reliable relationships, perhaps leadership recruited and refined. There is this creative tension throughout this story and the author has the reader searching for balance, whether from the vertical, or, where one would hope to find resolution on the horizon of an as yet to be undefined... This YA read should be what YA readers read." I'm liking what I see in all you other reviews for Digitus 233. KME: Thank You Mitch. I appreciate your reading my book about a group of teens caught in a web of deceit. I always wanted to write a book about breaking free of the world’s controlling power or, in the alternative, being doomed to die trying. GMB: And I I like this review too... "Looking for fantastic characters and a breath-holding, heart-pounding, hair-raising edge of your seat good time? Then look no further, Digitus 233 has it all ~ Maria" Tell me Kim ...What brings you the deepest sense of happiness? KME: Knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life. I have an ability to feel deep joy when I watch others succeed. GMB: And you help a lot of authors as the You are the owner of Master Koda Select Publishing, LLC. Is it the first business you have ever owned? KME: *Laughter* Nooo. I was just a kid of six or seven when I first ventured into the land of entrepreneurial adventures. I was always hunting around for something to sell. One summer it was candy out of the back of a little red wagon (my venture into door to door sales), one summer it was a carnival in my back yard, one summer I gathered all the neighborhood kids and made them memorize lines and dress in ridiculous costumes and we charged all the adults to suffer through our off-off-off-Broadway plays. The one on-going business I had was selling my stories on the playground at school, so I guess I was an indie publisher way back before it was popular. GMB: You know Kim we've been friends for years now and I've come to realize that with every ounce of your good intention, there is not a whole lot wasted ... It got me thinking about a quote I want to share... GMB: You know I just wanted to share as much because you truly are a person in the publishing industry that makes it possible for a lot of writers to never waste their effort ... their spirit... their gifts... KME: Thank You Mitch. GMB: Kim, what is your favorite genre to read on a rainy day? KME: No matter the weather or the genre, three important aspects must be present. First, it can be a romance, thriller, fantasy or sci-fi, but the author has to make me believe it’s possible. Second, the plot must be intriguing and tightly written. And third, the characters have to be three-dimensional. No card-board cut-outs for this girl. GMB: What is the meaning of life? KME: To leave the earth a better place for having been here. GMB: You all in the Barn Den listening in Kim tells me she loves writing thought provoking and action filled stories that bring her readers back for more. Although her writings deal with the evils of the world, she dishes out healthy doses of laughter and fun along the way. Speaking of fun ... Kim, how do you spend your weekends? KME: I spend my free time wrangling wild horses, rafting down the Amazon, hang gliding on a toothpick, and when I'm awake you will find me working on my next adventure or assisting other authors in creating their dreams. GMB: How about sharing some Media Links so all can get a hold of you to see how the chickens are doing? KME: Sure Mitch ... Anything for the Digitus chicken fans out there ... Author blog: http://digitus233.com/category/blog/ Publisher Website: http://masterkodaselectpublishing.com/ GMB: And connect with Kim on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kimmutch.emerson Twitter connection: @MstrKoda Amazon Author Page: http://www.amazon.com/K.D.-Emerson/e/B00AV1L0HU/ GMB: Kim thank you for visiting us here in the Barn Den and I hope you enjoyed the motif we created for you... KME: Love it Mitch ... You know the chickens have been in my lap for a while now ... And 'Yes' ... Mitch we've had a great time. Many Thanks to all the readers of my work and for your precious input. I don’t think you realize how much it means to me. Each one of you has given me a gift with your kind words. May God bless you in every step you take and may your life be filled with that glorious peace that passes all understanding.

Wow ... Vickie Johnstone ... Dancing like an eejit ... What More can a Zombie Reader ask for... Huh?10/16/2013 Wow! Just published on October 13, 2013, I Dream of Zombies is at the special release price. GMB: Hello Vickie Johnstone from London, England ... What can you tell us about I Dream of Zombies? VJ: Hi Mitch ... Much like an interview with you ... It starts with a dream and then the nightmare takes over... GMB: Awe c'mon now Vickie... The book is not entitled I Interview Zombies... VJ: Touche Mitch ... Now settle a bit will you ... Just kidding with you on this end... Now then ... I Dream of Zombies is a zombie novel set in London over six weeks in 2013, with a strong female lead character. It all begins on a summer’s day with the media reporting with some hilarity that people are dreaming of the dead coming to life, but those who have dreamt them are convinced they are a warning of things to come. Marla takes it all with a pinch of salt until she experiences the nightmares herself. Cue paranoia and disbelief until reality shows its new face. All over London there are incidences of people becoming sick and aggressive. As the attacks mount, the media is forced to take the matter seriously, but what is causing it? Is it a virus, and is it natural or man-made, and is the government responsible? Marla, her sister, Ellen, and friend Tommy find themselves fighting for their survival as their sense of reality is smashed. Will the army and police maintain control or will the country find itself in lockdown, isolated from the outside world? GMB: And Stewart Bint says, "Good character development, good descriptions...and friggin' scary” VJ: Yes '... friggin' scary' he says ... *winking* (A sly "wink" at that, observes GMB) GMB: And I found a book excerpt ... Will you read it for us Vickie? VJ: Sure Mitch ... “A sickening sense of dread ravages him as fear drifts over the surface of his skin like fingers, icy cold and unrelenting. He turns again and sprints towards the exit, his pace becoming increasingly slower as if something is pushing him back. Yet still he finds himself in the exact same position, his feet rooted to the spot, his arms sweeping, useless. His hair blows in the breath that the creature now turns on him, sickening in its putrid scent of death and putrefaction. “There is not a word he can think of to describe this thing in front of him. Fear creeps, regardless. Twisting, crawling, the maggots swarm across its bloodied face as it opens its mouth wider. Something rips. The yawn seems to swallow him whole into this darkness of despair as a jagged, ripping pain overwhelms him; the sharp teeth chafing, gnawing at his neck, seeking to pierce the jugular vein within. From far off in the distance comes the ripple of laughter.” GMB: Thanks for dropping by Vickie ... And I'll just let those here in the Barn know a little more about you ... Vickie lives in London, UK, and works as a freelance layout sub editor. Her first book, Kiwi in Cat City, was written in 2002 and self-published in 2011, and she has scribbled stories and poetry all her life. G Mitchell Baker, here to introduce you to Master Koda Select Publishing's Nadia Kilrick this Wowser of a Wednesday. Nadia is a Florida native who finds tranquility in the simple life of the Deep South. She believes there is no better place to contemplate life's journey than sitting beside a slow moving creek shaded by mighty moss-draped oaks. It's there that dreams burst free from within the chasms of the human heart. Let's make another friend and today we are here to welcome... Nadia, Nadia... NK: Well thank You Mitch... Good t'see ya again... GMB: Yes... I have had the privilege of interviewing you before... NK: Yes... and it was a wonderful time spend at your 'Anything But a Tired Barn' with all the Author and Friends there... Some art too... http://www.gmitchellbakerauthor.com/3/post/2013/09/jacqueline-cross-keeps-moving-visiting-the-barn-with-great-news.html GMB: Tell us a little more about yourself... NK: I have written fiction since childhood. The busyness of life and raising a family slowed the progress of my writing for two decades. When my children moved away, I began writing articles for the web. My passion for fiction writing quietly stirred while writing articles related to gardening, family, self-sufficiency and do-it-yourself projects. Now I write fiction full time. Thriller, suspense/mystery and paranormal are my favorite genres to write. When reading, I reach for psychological thrillers, true crime, mystery/suspense, horror, paranormal, western and historical fiction. I am is pleased my debut short story, “Ziggy Returns: A Short Tale”, has been published by Master Koda Select Publishing and is now available on Amazon.com. My second novel “Rough Hewn: People of Kilmservy Village”, the second book in her psychological thriller trilogy is also available with MKSP. GMB: Well let's revisit some of your recent work ... If I recall ... it was Minna who longed for peace and freedom from the constant barrage of demands placed on her by her drunken, philandering husband. Little did she know, even when his careless actions provided the freedom she longed for, peace would be harder to find than before. "Ziggy Returns: A Short Tale" http://www.amazon.com/Ziggy-Returns-ebook/dp/B00EE8SJWU/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376576967&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=ghost+named+ziggy NK: Well ... I brought a Post Card ... GMB: Nice ... Tell us in your own words... NK: Sure Mitch... Minna Fuller finds herself in an odd predicament when her moonshine guzzling husband carelessly causes an accident that changes both their lives. Though relieved to have her life back, she would never have wished death on her husband. Being a man who always had to have the last word, Ziggy returns to their home to instruct her on how she should live the remainder of her life by offering a suggestion she finds far-reaching, even for him. Will Minna be able to rid her home of her husband’s ghost and finally get on with her life? Will she accept his blessing and set onto the path he envisions her taking or will she ignore him and the advice from her friends? GMB: Sounds a lot like remorse and forgiveness sometimes come too late. Was it Ziggy had to have the last word even if it meant going home after death. NK: or perhaps it was more about Minna freeing herself from her husband's ghost? GMB: Nadia ... Where can we find you?
