Dragons are thought to be a left over from the time of dinosaurs. What if they weren't, what if they came to earth from another planet? What if they were intelligent and able to communicate with us? Find out how this story has a different twist to the old legend of dragons! http://ow.ly/oapxu Hello ... G Mitchell Baker, here to introduce you to Master Koda Select Publishing's Royal Couple from Iowa ... Again it is my privilege to help Wow Your Wednesday and to help you make friends and meet authors from Master Koda Select Publishing. Today I am very pleased to introduce authors Wendy Siefken and her son Charles Siefken, writing partners for the "Kai's Journey" project. GMB: Please share a little about yourselves... Charles: I work at a local business as a tech. I will be attending college this fall to become a certified mechanic. I love to read fantasy books but Christopher Paolini is my all time favorite author. I’m always coming up with new ideas for new stories. My mom says that I’m always stretching our imaginations and flexing our writing muscles. Wendy: We have to look up and do research on a good portion of his ideas but it’s always interesting and love to learn! Okay, about me. I work in a local call center taking inbound calls. I love working on the stories and hashing out ideas with Charlie. We enjoy talking about the story lines anywhere we are. Stores, restaurants, or the mall. We will talk about ideas, characters and the environment they live in. GMB: How about sharing a little more about Kai's Journey... Charles: An awful mistake, an unlikely companion, Kai’s journey is to save the human race. After his father accidentally releases a killer virus into the world, Kai is left alone to battle the creatures the virus created. While fighting for his existence in the barren post-apocalyptic world, Kai runs into an unlikely ally in a young woman named Clover. Fueled by a flicker of hope, the two teenagers join forces with a rag-tag band of survivors in a heroic journey. Can the human race endure? Wendy: Here’s a little more ... Kai has been fighting for survival and trying to find a way rid the world of the disease his father created… Kai’s father accidentally created a race of zombies and like a virus; it soon spreads throughout the entire world! Kai comes across a young woman named Clover, who is part of a clan traveling across the United States to try to find what is left of humanity. Clover is a part of a clan who has a secret of their own. Hiding among what is left of the human race, will Kai be able to handle the truth? Kai and Clover are watching a meteor shower when their lives are changed forever! Kai and Clover begin a heroic journey, fueled by the increasingly dim hope that somehow, the human race will have a chance to start over. GMB: And I'd like to share the 5 Star Book Review of Kai's Journey I published June 21, 2013: The Annihilation of World by Accident ... Then Comes the Journey... Reading Kai's Journey: The New World Chronicles' I find myself reading somewhere into Kai's Journey ... a path of Young Adult discovery, relationships, somber reflection and on through a post-apocalyptic, sometime barbaric nature frequented by nasty zombies and perhaps appealing shape-shifters. The story takes place in a world decimated by `accident'. It was the annihilation of world by `accident' and the adventure, the horror, combined with science-fiction to follow that triggered my curiosity, but I want to encourage the authors to push for description that does not distract (which soon came after my curiosity found a home in this read). For example, there is a white wolf introduced as `...baring teeth...' Canines typically, essentially, bare `fang'. I encourage the writers to flesh out these details in what I believe is otherwise a finely crafted Young Adult story. I enjoyed the premise expressed, life through the after-nature of an apocalypse as Kai first meets Clover, when he contemplates, "Her blue eyes glowed like sapphires in the firelight. The life he saw in her face took his breath away."(*) Thank You for a great swashbuckling story ... Keeping in mind this is for a Young Adult audience I am thinking Five Stars through to the finish. (*) Siefken, Charles; Siefken, Wendy (2013-05-29). Kai's Journey: The New World Chronicles (The Kai and Clover Series) (Kindle Location 112). Master Koda Select Publishing. Kindle Edition. Hello ... G Mitchell Baker, here... As Best Selling author on Amazon it is again my privilege to help Wow Your Wednesday and to help you make friends and meet authors from Master Koda Select Publishing. Today I am very pleased to introduce authors K.R. Hughes and T.L. Burns, writing partners for the "What She Knew Trilogy". "Fateful Night", book one in the 'What She Knew Trilogy', is on sale for .99 cents. In this fast paced suspense every major player of the early sixties is involved, from the world politicians, to the Rat Pack, to Hollywood, and the mafia. What if Marilyn Monroe had lived and what if what she knew could have saved JFK? Fact or fiction? What if.... "Darkest Day", book two in the 'What She Knew Trilogy' continues where on the tragic day of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the nation mourns the loss of a president who stood for radical change and whose charisma carried him through the masses with never before seen devotion. Kennedy’s determination to pay the U.S. back for his good fortune never wavered, with a presidency riddled in strife from the Cuban Missile Crisis to the Cold War and finally to the Vietnam conflict nothing was easy for him. In this Darkest Day, this fictional novel, Kennedy isn't on a world tour or even in Texas in 1963. Instead he is in the Alps recovering from back surgery, a ruse that he had planned with Bobby, and his double months in advance of the tour. With the oval office tapped and the ever present Bobby running interference there was little likelihood that anyone would realize this was not the president. In fact, no one did. Now, the world believes they’re beloved president is dead, there is no going back for Jack. While the decisions are difficult, it is far better to leave his ‘death’ alone than to risk political failure for his family clan and ridicule for his young widow. Kennedy must now take on another face, name, and identity. Who is behind the assassination? What was the ultimate goal in killing the president? Was it to topple the American government and take down the Kennedy’s with it? Find out in this action packed conspiracy novel. K.R. Hughes Hughes is an English major from Amarillo, Texas. She now resides near Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoys writing with her co-author T.L. Burns. They have just finished writing book 2 in the trilogy and are currently in the process of writing book three. Hughes enjoys working with budding writers and tutoring English. Her passion is for at-risk teens. She volunteers to help teens realize their potential and find their passion. Hughes has two grown children, Justin and Kayti, and two four legged girls, MayZee and Ruthie. Find other works by this author in the Historical Romance section, pen name is Kymber Lee, “Treasured Love” and “Lord Tristan’s True Love” are both a fun romp written in Regency England in 1811. Lee (Hughes) wrote these novels for her grandmother who is a huge supporter of her work. T.L. Burns As Burns' co-author puts it "She is the foremost researcher and historical guru for the "What She Knew Trilogy." They have just finished writing book two in the trilogy and are in the process of writing book three. Burns passion is for at-risk families. She volunteers her time to help the needy, not with a hand-out but with a hand-up. She is married and has two grown sons, best sons in the whole world, Kenny and Deven and one 4 legged son, Digby. Burns is very proud of her boys. Her oldest, Kenny, is married with three kids and is the artist for all of their book covers. Deven is in college pursuing his degree in Engineering. Today I am very pleased to introduce author Brenda Perlin and, her latest novel... 'Home Wrecker I: The Chronicles". GMB: Brenda is an independent adult contemporary fiction author. Brenda evokes emotional responses in her readers by using a provocatively unique writing style. Her latest book, 'Home Wrecker I', captures the soul-wrenching conflicts of a personal struggle for emotional fulfillment. Brenda, please share a little about yourself. BP: Hi Mitch ... Thank You for welcoming me ... Ever since I was a child, there has been a fascination with writing. I draw my biggest inspiration from Judy Blume. She sparked a passion in me to pursue personal expression through writing. Once I was old enough to go to coffee shops alone, I recall losing myself in the world of writing, all the while documenting my ideas on paper napkins. GMB: I find that so interesting, my writing includes a contemporary adult fiction series about a disenfranchised father, who writes a father's lessons to his children on paper restaurant napkins when all other avenues of communication are cut off... BP: Perhaps there is some kind of connection there... Writing on napkins certainly has been a way of capturing and communicating strong ideas for me. GMB: Indeed ... Brenda, please share with us some more of your creative process? BP: There is really no more to my 'creative process' ... I just love to write. GMB: Can you tell us more about the 'Home Wrecker' series? BP: I'd be glad to ... The Home Wrecker series begins with 'Home Wrecker I: The Chronicles', this first novel was published with Master Koda Select Publishing in 2013. The book has developed a strong fan base and continues to grow in popularity as it both entertains my readers, while leaving them in a state of profound reflection. I am working and writing to expand the Home Wrecker series into a trilogy, so I can share more of the untold stories of my characters. GMB: Looking forward to that ... Now, I have started to read 'Home Wrecker I' on my Kindle ... And I am anxious to review your book. I'm finding your characters, Brooklyn and Bo, each unhappily married to others, and that they must decide whether to stay with their spouses, or give up everything for their love. What else would you like to reveal about 'Home Wrecker I' for those who have not yet read your book? BP: That and more ... Throughout Brooklyn’s life, she felt like she was on an endless journey toward redemption and she would have to be stronger than she ever imagined; do things she never felt herself capable of doing. When she finally found her soul mate, he came with one big snag: a wife. Brooklyn found herself fighting off her soon to be ex-husband and her lover’s wife. She knew what she was doing was wrong and yet… she couldn't turn back. No matter how much pain she may cause, it was too late. Brooklyn and Bo, each unhappily married to others, must decide whether to stay with their spouses or give up everything for their love. Brooklyn’s husband and Bo’s wife would try everything to break them apart and it was then Brooklyn finally confronted her own demons and came clean with everything and everyone in her life… even herself." GMB: There is such an underlying theme of vacant trust in these relationships, even when they believe they are moving forward with their lives... BP: You know that seems so true in some ways... The lack of trust between these characters is indeed a 'Home Wrecker' and ... Well there is an excerpt that comes to mind ... It goes right to the heart of this lack of trust thematic you are highlighting... Let me read some of it to you... GMB: Great... Please share... BP: Here we go... “He was also very jealous and had trust issues; traits I did not possess. In fact, I trusted to a fault” GMB: Indeed, lack of trust can be a Home Wrecker. Ms. Perlin brings to us this story in contemporary adult fiction and you can take-up your eBook copy from Amazon now ... And when you find it, read it please offer up a review to post on Amazon along with the other great reviews at http://amzn.com/B00CKBWWIU
